Numedia is proud to welcome
Spencer Barr on board in a Principal Design Engineering role.
Spencer
was one of the original pioneers of fibre optic design for
broadcast applications and was the key architect behind the
Snell & Wilcox range of
fibre enabled modules. During a 10-year period at Snell,
Spencer was responsible for the introduction and product
roll-out of a wide range of fibre transport products including
some of the markets first HD-SDI capable modules incorporating
multiple wavelength and optical splitting technology.
Prior to joining Snell, Spencer spent over nine years
working for various GEC-Marconi Research Groups involved
in the investigation of many different fibre applications
for the efficient transport of data, voice and video as
raw data rates began to rise. Such work led to Spencer
working on the successful multi-national RACE2001 demonstrator
programme which used sixteen wavelengths and multiple optical
stars to transport digital video and audio within a broadcast
environment.
Everyone at Numedia is looking forward to working with
Spencer.
